(Set of 2 w/ Base Plate) Plate 5.5"L x 3.25"W x 0.5"H, Shaker 3.75"H, 2.25" Dia.; Nickelplate

The Molten Collection takes its inspiration from the lore of ancient craftsmanship and the application of these time-honored techniques to modern shapes and environments. It is about the transformation of "industrial" to "beautiful", "technical" to "lyrical". The collection also strives to represent the clean lines and minimal atmosphere associated with the ideals of contemporary life and progressive design. Intricately hand welded edges make each piece an individual work of art, with no two pieces being identical.

"The Molten Collection represents a way of living, which I really love – streamlined, timeless shapes ... objects which reverberate with the skill of their maker and yet do not fit into a traditional interpretation of craft. For me, the pieces possess a soulfulness and organic energy only possible through the handmade process. Each piece of Molten is made by a craftsman dropping individual welds along the edge of the object, not for the function of joinery but for the beauty and spontaneous quality that molten metal can create."

Michael Aram's Rock Collection is inspired by jagged edged stone formations as seen through the combined lenses of Rock and Roll Glam, Cubism, and Art Deco. The collection feels very now while referencing past cultural and artistic movements and follows the artist's love of incorporating natural forms into the home.

"This collection conjures up many different moods for me. The gold finish feels decadent while the faceted rock forms are simple and clean. The result is a bold design that I feel reflects an elegant lifestyle that is edgy, fashionable, and modern."

Michael Aram Gotham Mini Valet Box

4"W x 5"L x 2.25"H; Black Nickelplate, Leatherette, Ultrasuede

The Gotham Collection celebrates the ancient metalworking technique of forging. Utilized for generations by master craftsmen, this skill can only be taught through diligent apprenticeship with their predecessors. The intricate patterns are achieved by slowly heating sheets of metal and hand hammering them with different levels of pressure, creating unexpected surfaces with a gently gothic and brooding feeling. This texture is then married with clean, streamlined shapes. The result is a completely unique collection with a distant nod to the handsome and decisive lines of the industrial period of the 1930's.

"I am intrigued by the striking, deep textures created through the hand forging process. In a way, they are evocative of the early 20th Century architecture seen in New York City in landmarks such as the Empire State and Chrysler buildings. Everything from the exterior to the elevator doors, radiator covers, and stairwells are reminiscent of that beautiful aesthetic and monumental moment in time. To me, the collection feels masculine but still universal."

Michael Aram Heart Mini Jewelry Box

4"W x 5"L x 2"H; Nickelplate, Leatherette, Ultrasuede

The Heart Collection takes its inspiration from the imagery that floats around classic storytelling.

"These heart vessels are all unique as they are hand forged and cut. There is an individuality to each piece, just as our hearts and expressions of love are different from person to person, from moment to moment. I love the idea of honoring our history with someone as much as our present and our futures. There is beauty in paying homage not only to what came before at the same time as dreaming of what lies ahead, while capturing the celebratory moment you are in. They represent Then, Now, and Forever!"

Michael Aram Hamsa Menorah, Limited Edition & Signed

3.5" wide x 14" long x 11.25" high; Nickelplate, Stainless Steel; 500 Limited Edition Signed / Numbered Pieces

The Hamsa is a time-honored symbol for many faiths and cultures. It suggests an ancestral blessing, a laying on of hands, a gesture of protection, support and comfort. In the context of this menorah, the symbol also evokes a sense of strength and solidarity. With the subtle placement of the candle holes, this highly unique piece is as a much a sculpture as it is a functional object. It is a limited edition of 500 pieces that is personally hand-signed and numbered by Michael.

"For me, objects of ritual from all faiths hold a very special place. They always feel as if they are imbued with a particularly profound energy and meaning. That is why I have such a fondness for creating Judaica. This sculpture draws from a symbol that has been used for millennia all over the world. It gives the impression of what has come before...history and family and generations of faith. Being a casting of my own hands, it is abstract yet intensely personal."
